Project Description: 

 

The Guisborough Community Village is a supported residential development on the former Luke Senior House site, Park Lane, Guisborough for Beyond Housing. The scheme offers 20 independent-living homes, including accommodation for persons with learning difficulties, as a choice of 10 apartments and 10 quarter houses dwellings.

Set within landscaped gardens, the two-storey, non-institutional design follows a traditional street and courtyard layout, encouraging social interaction and community integration. The homes meet Nationally Described Space Standards and Building Regulations M4(2) for accessibility. The architecture uses red brick, slate-style roofs, and grey uPVC windows, complementing neighbouring properties.

The project has transformed a vacant brownfield site into a secure, inclusive, and sustainable community, exceeding building regulation energy standards through a fabric-first approach, while promoting wellbeing through green spaces and natural connections.
